how you can start learning about FB ads today

"I've never run FB ads before and want to start, what's the best way to learn?" So, in this thread I'm going to lay out how you can start learning about FB ads today.

If you know absolutely nothing about FB ads the best place to start is Facebook Blueprint.. Facebook Blueprint is a free collection of modules made by Facebook. It's an amazing resource for someone who's new to FB ads and wants to familiarize themselves with it. They have a ton of modules that'll help you better understand the ins and outs of the platform.

Use Blueprint to get an understanding of where things are, what you can do, and what everything is called. Here's the link, if you want to check it out 👇

There are certifications that you can get from Blueprint but they're not necessary.I do recommend answering the questions at the end of each lesson though. They used to have practice exams but it seems like they got rid of them or I just can't find them. Also, you don't have to go through all of the modules in Blueprint.

Go through the ones that focus on understanding ads manager/business manager, creating ads, the structure of the platform, etc. Focus on those main topics and avoid the ones that aren't relevant.Facebook blueprint

Okay, so now you have a basic understanding of FB ads and how they work. It's important that you familiarize yourself with all the jargon because it can be a lot to take in at first. I put together a list of words that you need to know 👇

Facebook Ads Glossary

Now, you have a basic understanding plus the vocabulary. The next part is sometimes the hardest for beginners. You NEED to get experience in the platform. No amount of trainings whether free or paid can replace actual experience.

You need to find a way to start running FB ads. Whether you're running ads for yourself, a client, a friend, etc. You need to get that experience.
Working in ads manager on a day to day basis teaches you so much when you're starting out. Once you're running ads you can start figuring out your own strategy as well as tips/tricks to help improve your performance.

There are a ton of places to get that kind of info but you want to ensure it's from a quality source. Here are some good free places to get FB ads content on twitter:

@andrewfoxwell , @herrmanndigital, @learnclax and @Gil_RunDMG.

Facebook Ads Blog

-@jonloomer and @AdEspresso have some good content especially for beginners. Facebook groups can also be a good place to go to get help and learn from others. I'd avoid the Ad buyers group, there's just way to much spam and garbage in there now.

@andrewfoxwell and @herrmanndigital have a solid FB group that's much smaller with no spam. The most important part while you're running ads is to continue to test things. Trial and error is the best way to learn.

It takes time. You won't become an expert overnight so stay patient. Now, if you've done everything above and still want more info to help you improve your ad performance I'd recommend you check out FB Ads Crash Course.

In the course I show you how I structure my accounts, test, optimize, scale and more. You also get access to Alchemy Academy which is a private group filled with FB ad buyers of all different skill levels talking about everything FB ads related. I'm also in the group answering and helping people. This group is usually people's favorite part of FBACC.crash course

You'll definitely get the most out of it if you have an intermediate or expert understanding of FB ads. It's not a beginner course which is why I always recommend people to start with Blueprint and other free resources before purchasing. I hope this thread has helped some beginners better understand what they have to do to start learning more about FB ads.

If you have any questions please comment them below or send me a message.

Thanks,
